The Organization & the Team
To strengthen their electrical discipline, they are looking for an experienced and inspiring Head of Discipline to lead a team of 20-25 highly skilled electrical engineers and specialists across projects and markets. You will be part of COWIs Design department in the business unit Buildings & Industry East and together with two colleagues you will lead a team of 60 employees. Your work base will be at their Lyngby headquarters, with reporting line to VP Head of Engineering Design Buildings & Industry East

The Challenge
As Head of Discipline (EL), you will play a key role in shaping the future of their electrical competence, ensuring technical excellence, strong collaboration, and continuous development in line with COWI’s strategy. In this role, you will be responsible for both people’s leadership and professional excellence within the electrical discipline.

In the role of Head of Discipline (EL), your responsibilities are:

Leading, motivating, and developing a discipline of 20-25 electrical specialists
Ensuring high technical quality and consistency across projects and deliveries
Driving competence development, knowledge sharing, and innovation within the discipline
Supporting project execution through resource planning, technical sparring, and specialist input
Contributing to business development and customer dialogue together with project managers and market leads
Enhancing teamwork among various fields, divisions, and regions
Building bridge to the Engineering Design Center (EDC) and ensure the further development of EDC resources on projects
Translating COWI’s strategy into clear priorities and actions for the electrical discipline

Furthermore, you have:

A degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field
Solid experience within electrical engineering, consultancy, or project-based environments
Extensive leadership experience, leading larger or multidisciplinary teams
Comprehensive understanding of engineering quality, standards, and project delivery
The ability to inspire, engage, and develop employees at different career stages
A collaborative mindset and effective communication skills
Experience working with clients and contributing to winning and delivering projects

On top of that you have:

Solid business and commercial understanding combined with line and/or project management experience within industry, such as Pharma, Food, Water, Hospitals, or similar sectors and office buildings
Minimum 5-10 years of experience in the design and/or construction of buildings, with solid knowledge of electrical installations in various types of buildings spanning from office buildings to hospitals to industrial or pharmaceutical buildings
Educated as an Engineer, Designer, or equivalent, with an electrical engineering background
Proficient communication skills in both Danish and English, written and spoken
Proficient in the use of digital tools and quick to adopt new methods and ways of working
