The Team
The team works alongside the customers on some of Denmark´s most significant projects in Engineering. The environment is characterized by a strong collegiality and a team where they help each other in order to secure a nice work-life balance environment. In the Lyngby office they are currently 10 cooling specialists and all in all 50+ mechanical specialists.

On behalf of COWI and due to a significant pharma strategy, Best Talent is now searching for a Discipline Lead Pharma - Cooling Systems.

Discipline Lead Cooling Systems Pharma

  • You lead the design and execution of cooling systems
  • Act as the primary liaison with clients and contractors
  • You ensure clear communication and successful project delivery
  • Guide and mentor project team members, including junior engineers

The Challenge
As a Discipline Lead with cooling experience, you are responsible for leading and overseeing all technical aspects within the cooling discipline across projects. You act as the subject matter expert, ensuring that cooling systems—whether for industrial processes, buildings, data centers, or energy systems—are designed and implemented to meet high standards of performance, efficiency, compliance, and safety.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Provide technical leadership within the cooling discipline across multiple projects
  • Develop and review designs for HVAC, chilled water systems, refrigeration, or process cooling applications
  • Ensure solutions comply with relevant standards, regulations, and sustainability goals
  • Coordinate with other engineering disciplines (e.g., electrical, mechanical, controls) to deliver integrated solutions
  • Support project managers with technical insights, risk assessments, and resource planning
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the development of technical best practices
  • Lead design reviews and support commissioning and troubleshooting activities

Talent

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Energy Engineering, or a related field
  • Significant hands-on experience with cooling systems design and implementation
  • Deep understanding of thermodynamics, refrigerants, energy efficiency, and related safety and environmental regulations
  • Experience in leading technical project teams or acting as a senior technical reference point
  • Fluent in Danish and English
