Area Sales Manager, Food and Coffee

The Team
At GEA, they deliver advanced equipment and project solutions for the Chemical, Pharmaceutical, Food, and Dairy industries. Join them at their Søborg office and become a part of their business line food & coffee team, which is responsible for selling complete or partial instant coffee process lines as well as complete industrial freeze-drying plants for the food industry.

The Challenge
You will work with existing and new customers to develop and sell plants tailored to their needs. Doing so, you will be working on large-scale projects in the range of EUR 1-50 million, and you will interact with clients worldwide, often via Teams or by travelling to visit them on-site. Your primary responsibility will therefore be to get to know and understand your customers and their production, enabling you to recommend the best-suited solutions and products from our portfolio. This position involves international travel to meet customers and will take you travelling up to 60 – 80 days per year.

Your Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Manage key accounts, sales pipelines, and actively participate in customer visits
  • Design plants to fit customer needs
  • Calculate prices, write quotations, and follow up
  • Present the solution(s) and advantages
  • Conduct commercial and technical contract negotiations
  • Participate in tests of potential solutions for your customers at our test facility, showing them the benefits
  • Conduct market research

Your Talent
First and foremost, you have the technical expertise to sell large-scale, complex projects and the perseverance to endure long sales cycles. You can identify clients' needs and match them with GEA’s offerings using your solid business understanding. Also, your collaborative mindset, excellent communication skills, and cross-cultural understanding enable you to build strong relationships with both colleagues and customers.

Additionally, you know how to remain calm in difficult situations, even in unfamiliar territories, and you have the adaptability to navigate in a large international organization effectively.

GEA also imagines that You:

  • Possess strong technical acumen and the ability to convey complex solutions clearly
  • Hold a degree in Mechanical, Chemical or Process Engineering
  • Have a proven sales track record of selling capital goods
  • Have knowledge of export financing and financial instruments used in export sales: Letter of Credits, bank guarantees etc.
  • Have experience with technical project sales and long sales processes
  • Speak and write English effortlessly
