The Challenge
Lead the product design activity to ensure timely and accurate completion of tasks. To be a direct communication link between the lab, the plant, sales, and the customer to ensure appropriate product design, process uniformity and product quality.

Your main responsibilities within Product Design:

  • To develop and maintain all product designs/product testing procedures
  • To interact with customers (Tiers & OEM’s) to assure design conformance and develop product specifications
  • To review all design projects and verify product designs
  • To monitor and maintain high quality in product design for customers
               Project coordination
               Clarification of customer requirements
               Effective use of pigments and additives to current technology
               Colour Matching
               New designs generated meet the customer’s requirements
               Each product design is as cost effective as feasible
  • Provide field service support: mold trials, customer complaint resolutions, NBO and new product launches
  • Authorize release of product for shipment and follow up on product released under positive recall
  • Manage and administer the customer complaint system and related Corrective and Preventive Actions in conjunction with the Quality System Manager
  • Perform research on product formulas
  • Evaluate and approve material substitutions and new suppliers, and monitor the same
  • Assist in process development and optimization
  • Travel: 10-20 % travel required (sales support and on its own)Participate in corporate (US) and global technical conference calls / meetings

Your main responsibilities within Project Management and Development:

  • Suppliers contact for incoming new raw material selection
  • Raw material evaluation or submission to R&D for evaluation
  • Material analysis via analytical techniques: FTIR, TGA, DSC
  • Technical service and complaint investigation
  • Report writing
  • Apply a high level of understanding and knowledge of pigments, polymers, and additives to product development
  • Conduct first time make review with manufacturing Technical Support

You will be working in different highly skilled international teams to provide advice and technical assistance to Sales & Marketing and Production, especially on scale-up trials of newly developed products and established processing specifications. You will also take part in internal and external audits for Product Development. You will be referring to SBU Director (non-medical).

Your Talent
The ideal candidate holds a degree in Polymer Engineering, related science like Chemistry or is educated as Plastic Processing Operator. It is your experience, motivation and personality that define if you are the right candidate for this role. We expect you to have minimum 3-5 years of experience within the Automotive industry, Aerospace, or the like.

Experience in IATF and a strong colour vision (Munsell) will be an advantage. The right candidate also has a good understanding of the Quality Management Systems according to ISO 13485 and 21 CFR 820.

As a person you thrive on working in an international environment with a diversity of products and projects. You have a high level of technical competence, which you use when integrating well with internal and external stakeholders.

The successful candidate has strong problem-solving skills, acts in an initiative way of working and with a high abstract orientation. Likes to find solutions and is willing to go the extra mile to achieve the best results. In addition, you are a team player, well organized, pro-active, flexible and can work on multiple tasks.

Excellent knowledge of MS Office and fluency in English with good verbal and written communication skills is a given.
