Strategic Purchaser within Electrical parts and Automation

The Team

You will be joining the team Procurement Components, which together with the Project Organisation are responsible for securing synergy and savings within project procurement. The team is also responsible for having the best suppliers and securing an optimal process concerning timely deliveries to the ongoing projects within the company. Specifically, you will be part of a purchasing team consisting of 13 colleagues who each are responsible and involved in purchasing related to components. The team works closely together with a “sister team” responsible for purchasing related to the project management area.

The Challenge

As Strategic Purchaser for GEA your work will be multidisciplinary, and you will be in contact with a lot of project engineers and suppliers at various GEA sites all over the world. You will be involved in obtaining quotations, negotiating supplier contracts, procuring services and components as well as keeping track of the consumption of hours.

You have commercial purchasing insight, and you understand the advantages of strategic cooperation with both internal as well as external stakeholders. You will be responsible for coordinating your own categories within the group. You are skilled and capable of taking care of everyone´s interests and foreseeing complex issues from the very start of the process to the very end from obtaining the quotation, making the purchase order until finalizing the purchase in accordance with the project budgets.

Primarily responsibilities:

  • Global Price agreement for various suppliers and verification with local entity in Denmark
  • Regular catch up with Global Procurement department on market updates and delivery situations
  • Price and delivery negotiation with local suppliers on electrical components,-panels and automation software
  • Handle agreements with panel suppliers on various standard panels and electricians agreed rates
  • Update GEA prices, 3rd party agreement with suppliers regularly
  • Handle stock orders for different business units and follow up on regular basis
  • Regular follow up for delivery and escalation with suppliers
  • Alternative solution of parts and supplier if required parts cannot be delivered on time
  • Electrical panel tender preparations and price negotiations
  • Automations Software price agreement with suppliers including global and local agreement
  • Instrumentation price alignment and follow up with suppliers
  • Commercial agreement with panel suppliers

Your Talent   

You have experience in Procurement for Electrical and Automation parts and some knowledge of electrical EU directives, CE and UL markings for panel and electrical components. Knowledge of Electrical panel engineering combined with an educational background in Electrical area and/or Automation is important.

Furthermore, you possess the following skills and experiences:

  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Be able to analyze suppliers of electrical and panel component to select the most suitable suppliers who can deliver high quality parts at competitive pricing
  • Negotiate with electrical component and panel suppliers on lead-time, cost and quality
  • Communication and follow up with suppliers
  • Be able to answer technical questions in some extend from panel builders or suppliers of electrical components and software
  • Perform regular performance review with suppliers to drive continuous improvements
  • Electrical installation activities for Small Skid projects within Denmark and agreement with electrician rates
  • Be able to inspect panel builder construction facility to figure out production capacity and experience need for GEA electrical panel order
  • Business fluent in Danish and English written and spoken

You are good at communicating and you thrive in working with a diverse group of stakeholders at all levels this combined with a natural approach to other people by understanding the importance of strong relationships both internally and externally.

You possess nice interpersonal skills, are analytical and it comes natural for you to use facts and numbers as a base for discussion and decision making. You are structured and organized and have a process driven work method. Because you are very strong in prioritizing and executing, you thrive in a dynamic workday being able to deliver high quality results in a high paced environment.
