Discipline Lead – Clean Utilities Pharma
- You lead the process design phase within clean utilities
- Act as the primary liaison with clients and contractors
- You ensure clear communication and successful project delivery.
The Challenge & About the role
We are seeking a senior professional to lead clean utilities and process mechanical design within pharmaceutical facility projects. As Discipline Lead, you will be a key technical authority in projects involving clean utilities, and related GMP-compliant systems.
You will ensure best-in-class delivery, act as a client liaison, and guide both junior and senior engineers with a multidisciplinary project setting.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Lead the design and engineering of clean utilities, and other utilities for equipment and process systems
- Act as the primary technical contact for mechanical systems on pharmaceutical projects
- Collaborate with cross functional teams
- Ensure systems comply with cGMP standards and regulatory requirements
- Oversee project phases: CD, detailed engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and qualification
- Support creation and review of GMP documentation: URS, DQ, SAT, IQ, OQ, PQ, VP
- Contribute to risk assessment, design reviews validation documentation, and SOPs
- Mentor junior team members and support a knowledge-sharing culture
- Contribute to continuous improvement and development of discipline-specific best practices
Talent & About You:
You are a highly experienced mechanical/process engineer with deep knowledge of clean utilities within regulated pharma environments. You thrive in technically demanding projects and have a structured quality-oriented mindset.
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field like process engineering, biotechnology, chemistry and/ or extensive professional
- Experience in the field of biopharmaceutical technology
- Proven experience with clean utilities and other utilities for equipment and process systems
- Strong knowledge of GMP including qualification and validation activities
- Experience with documentation and qualification phases: FAT, SAT, commissioning and URS, DQ, IQ, OQ, PQ
- Project leadership or senior coordination experience within complex pharma/life science projects
- Familiarity with European and international pharma guides and regulations (ISPE, ASME, EMA, FDA, etc)
Key competencies:
- Technical authority on pharmaceutical clean utility systems
- Skilled in process design, system integration, and documentation
- Strong multidisciplinary coordination and communication skills
- Fluent in Danish and English, both spoken and written
- Ability to operate effectively in regulated and complex environments
