The Team
The team works alongside the customers on some of Denmark´s most significant projects in Engineering. The Challenge
In this position, you will be part of the COWI Design department in the business unit Buildings & Industry East. Together with two competent colleagues, you will have personnel responsibility for the Mechanical Discipline, who in total are 50 engineers and specialists, where professionalism, employee well-being, and collaboration are prioritized. Your primary task in the team will be the daily management and development of the Discipline’s employees in Lyngby as well as developing the mechanical area as such.

Additionally, allocation of resources to tasks, recruitment, employee retention, and sparring/project work will also be a natural part of your daily work.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Ensure that employees, to the greatest extent possible, work on projects aligned with their development plans and receive the necessary support
  • Ensure that each employee has the best conditions to perform in their role, including setting clear goals for development and performance together with the employee
  • Provide feedback, support, and follow-up on individual goals, including regular one-on-one meetings with each employee
  • Conduct resource planning in collaboration with employees, project managers, and department management, so that projects have the right staffing and no employee has either too much or too little work
  • Recruitment and onboarding
  • Contribute to and implement the department's action plans as well as develop action plans within the Discipline, especially regarding competence development and employee engagement
  • Contribute to the professional task-solving on projects


Talent & About You
You are a Line, Project Manager or a Discipline Lead with relevant experience in a project-driven organisation, and you would like to continue your career as a Line Manager, leading a team involved in projects. Participating in relevant projects yourself (50/50) will help you maintain your professionalism, expertise and relevance within the field.

What is most important is that you have strong communication and collaboration skills and are motivated to lead, develop and inspire a team. You are accustomed to working in a value-based manner and enjoy achieving shared goals.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Business and commercial understanding combined with Line- or Project Management experience within Industrial Buildings Industry within Pharma, Food, Water, Hospitals or the like
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in design or construction of buildings and knowledge of mechanical installations within buildings, preferably in Industry or Pharma
  • Educated as an Engineer, Designer, or other relevant education with a mechanical background
  • Excellent communication skills in Danish and English, both in writing and speaking
  • Proficient with digital tools and quick to learn new methods
