Challenge
Can you think strategically, create coherence cross the sectors and secure the continued favourable development in new and existing investment areas?

The Business Unit has great growth potential, and you have the opportunity to become the next valuable member of the Management Team. As the new Business Unit Manager, you will lead the development of the Life Science business with both existing and new customer relationships in the Öresund Region. Furthermore, you will be responsible for leading and developing your team and employees.

Your team consist of five Section Managers, reporting directly to you and approximately 100 employees. The Business Unit is spread across the region with employees working at offices in Malmö, Herlev and Kalundborg. You will lead, plan, and develop the Business Unit and you are fully responsible for the Business Units’ targets set in cooperation with the Board of Directions and the CEO.

The Business Unit is focused on delivering successful projects and consultant assignments within the Life Science sector, with the intention to improve people’s living standards. The leader, who AFRY is looking for, works through a coaching leadership and values a people culture characterized by cooperation and genuine, good relationships. As a person you will bring renewal, but at the same time respect the existing, keeping focus on the high-quality standards of the company. Personally, you will be responsible for new investment areas. Driving the process from first customer contact through issuing offers in corporation with the Sector Manager till entering the Agreements and securing the customer satisfaction and recurrent sales. You will be a part of a busy and motivated team with a positive and informal work environment. Giving you the unique opportunity of being an important part of bringing the company to the next level of business development across business units and national borders. You will refer to the VP & Head of Business Areas Food & Pharma and you must expect quite some travelling between the offices in Denmark and Sweden.

You have a strong academic background on at least Bachelor level in combination with a good commercial education and understanding. You have a conceptual approach and sales management experience from the Pharmaceutical or Food industry.

You both enjoy and are used to meeting customers at all levels and have experience from the consulting business. Your focus is on good profitability and growth and you know how to grow a business and further develop an already well-known brand in both a local as well as a national market. As AFRY deliver projects to their customers, they value experience from project implementation, preferably international ones.

While focus on commercial development, at all times you prioritize inclusion and development of your team to succeed in your brave leadership.
You also have documented experience from leading managers, and preferably in international surroundings. You are a natural leader and role model, who seems to engage and lead your team to perform at their best. You are an energetic and decisive person, but still coaching and humble in your way to lead. You believe that it is important to listen to your co-workers and that you as a leader are responsible for taking care of and enabling your team and team members to evolve.

In addition, you are likely to have:

  • Knowledge of design, optimize, validate, qualify, and maintain Life Science production plants
  • Knowledge of GMP, ISO 13485 or corresponding regulatory requirements and interfacing with the authorities
  • At least 5 years of experience in sales and be used to identifying customers, competitors, and the market potentials
  • Experience with strategic sales development, prioritizing and implementation of action plans
  • Skills in developing sales and marketing materials and conceptualizing consulting business
  • Negotiation talent and a sincere interest in the customers, following the sales process all the way in order to documents results

In corporation with customers, partners, and colleagues you naturally create trust and respect around your person. Your working style is structured and analytical and you have documented results. Please notice depending on whether you live in Denmark or Sweden, you will work from either Herlev or Malmö.
