The Challenge
On behalf of Merck Life Science, Best Talent is now looking for a Senior Technical Application Consultant Upstream, Scandinavia. Leveraging your technical expertise from cell line generation to manufacturing of GMP cell culture media and supplements.

You will work as a specialist in a complex field where it is expected that you thrive well in an expert role and as an important strategic advisor working with internal and external stakeholders. In the role you have commercial responsibility where you drive sales for in-scope Process Solutions (PS) Upstream portfolio. Partnering with several business partners like account managers, tactical specialists, R&D, and process development scientists.

You are responsible for the tactical execution of the PS Upstream strategy on your territory within the scope of EMEA commercial activities. As such, you will segment customer profiles on your territory, create differentiated value with catalogue and customized cell culture solutions, and drive technical customer collaborations until the closure of business deals.

You express curiosity for Upstream solutions beyond your primary scope, contributing to uncovering sales leads for the entire Upstream ecosystem including equipment and services. You are ideally based in Denmark or Scandinavia, with regular travel for face-to-face customer meetings

Talent
You have an excellent understanding within cell line generation to manufacturing of GMP cell culture media supplements. You have a master’s degree ( 2-5+ years experience ) or PhD ( 2-3 years experience ) in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or closely related science in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry.

You are positive by nature and proactive with good organizational and communication skills. You are inquisitive and interested in the business environment and the understanding of the customer expectations and needs.

In a natural way you like to interact with clients and other external and internal stakeholders in a trustworthy way.
You have with confidence shown the ability to develop big clients by your way of working committed, entusiastic and at the same time with an analytical and scientific approach.

You are a relationship builder, convincing and with a winning mentality and at the same time you are helpful and delegating. You act as a team player with a high degree of ethics and integrity and understand that results are created by being focused and as a part of a team. You are a trusted advisor and specialist with in-dept knowledge of the entire Pharma Processing product line.

In addition, you have:

  • Excellent internal and external communication skills. Curious mindset, eager to learn from new bioprocess applications
  • An analytical and strategic mindset. Quickly adapt to a matrix environment to answer various customer needs and applications
  • English language skills at all levels
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a very good understanding of international cultures
  • A desire and experience in travelling
