The Company
Glycom is a young and vibrant Danish biotechnology company, focussed on the production and commercialisation of human milk oligosaccharides (HMOs). The company is a world leader in the field and has an ambitious program to develop HMOs for the benefit of human health and has a growing pipeline of clinical trials.  They employ a dynamic, multinational and successful team, specialised in biotechnology research and production and human biology.  Their leading HMO products are approved in the EU and US and are entering the market in infant formulas.  Further, Glycom is opening up markets for new applications.

Glycom's HQ is based in Scion DTU and Technology Park in Hørsholm and they have a newly built production facility in Esbjerg. The company employs a successful team of 120 colleagues of international background and specialized know-how in biotechnology, carbohydrate chemistry, human biology, production and marketing. To provide strategic direction and leadership in Clinical Development, Glycom is now looking for a Head of Clinical Development to manage the global pipeline

The Challenge
In this challenging position, your responsibility will be to provide strategic insight and leadership for Glycom's clinical development and manage a global pipeline of clinical trials. With your insight and drive, you are used to provide perspectives and know where it really makes sense to invest in clinical trials. You are an experienced clinical development professional with a passion for innovation in the human health, longing for creating solutions and new benefits.

Responsibilities include:

  • Lead and drive clinical development, clinical development standards, clinical trial pipeline and actively contribute to the innovation pipeline
  • Lead and manage cross-functional study teams for study design and to manage and maintain study time lines and budgets
  • Lead and drive study design and planning including protocols, time lines, budgets, resources, risk management, and sites
  • Lead selection and evaluation of study sites and vendors, including overseeing negotiation of budgets, financial and other terms with sites
  • Ensure study execution, including obtaining approvals, start up, enrolment tracking, monitoring, follow up and close out
  • Lead and drive data management, review, analysis, reporting and publications
  • Communication of study results to key stakeholders

Your Talent
The ideal candidate has a degree (MSc, MD, PhD) related to human biology and health. You have at least 5 years experience in the management of clinical trials. Experience in food trials or trials involving the Gastrointestinal Tract is considered a plus. You have been working with GCP and regulatory guidelines and directives relevant to clinical trials. You like people and have the ability to lead and motivate teams and establish partnerships with key stakeholders.

You have drive, attention to detail and a passion for innovation. You like to work within and contribute to a dynamic, interactive and informal innovation team.
